Ridge & Verge Tiles

We carry out re-bedding work to ridge, verge, hip and valley tiles. The tiles are removed and the old mortar is cleaned off. The tiles are then re-set on a new strong mortar mix. All re-bedding work carries a 5 year guarantee.

Dry Ridge Systems

Dry Ridge

The Dry Ridge is a mechanically fitted system which securely fixes the ridge tiles onto a roof, protecting them from wind up-lift and rain penetration.

The system provides 5,000mm²/m ventilation to the roof void through the vent roll, the equivalent to a continuous 5mm gap.

There is no need for mortar, making the job of fixing the ridge quick, easy and clean, as well as making it possible during frosts and other adverse weather conditions.

The system is compatible with most makes of concrete round and angled ridge tiles and most slate, flat concrete and profiled tiles. It can be fitted to the ridge of any duo pitch roof which has a pitch between 15 and 45 degrees.

A single box of Dry Ridge provides all of the components required for a ridge run approximately 6 metres in length (excluding the ridge tiles).

All Dry Ridge Systems are guaranteed for 10 years

Dry Verge Systems

The number of storms battering the UK every year is increasing and with this there is a growing realisation of the unreliability of using mortar to secure areas of the roof such as the verge. The Manthorpe Dry Verge protection system has been designed to provide a cost effective alternative that avoids all of the long term maintenance problems associated with mortar bedding.

Manthorpe Dry Verge is a great solution to secure tiles to the roof whilst preventing wind upliff and providing resistance to water penetration. The system is fast and easy to fix and because the system is mechanically fixed, fitting can take place in wet and frosty conditions. Once fitted the verge becomes totally secure.

While many people will try and fit Dry Verge End Caps for you, they can fit them incorrectly by screwing them straight into mortar, in which case the wind will get underneath them and as a result be blown off.

We at Weathertight Roofing Ltd fit them using the correct method. In some cases on a property, the overhang of the verge tiles will need to be cut back flush to the barge boards. We then mechanically fix a timber baton to the top of the barge boards so that the Dry Verge units can be fitted flush to them so that wind cannot get underneath and cannot be blown off.

The Dry Verge Units come in either a grey or brown colour.

All Dry Verge systems are guaranteed for 10 years
